Sarah Connor is a technophobic mother of the destined leader of the human resistance movement that would combat Skynet and its robotic soldiers. Her quest to defeat Skynet began when a Cyberdyne Systems Series 800 Model 101 Terminator was sent back in time to kill her to prevent the birth of her son. She is rescued by a resistance soldier also sent back in time. He reveals that military engineers would develop Skynet, an artificial intelligence program, that would ultimately control all military hardware. She successfully destroys the Terminator. After these events, Connor is soon incarcerated within a mental hospital due to her claims that Skynet would control the world. The Terminator, reprogrammed, rescues her and she, the robot, and her son go on a quest to destroy the military technology.
