Will battle Revan's Team
The Citadel Council at first refused to believe that Saren had gone rouge, forcing Shepard to seek more information. A Turian C-Sec Operative, Garrus Vakarian, had previously investigated Saren, but the red tape that surrounded Spectre activity forced him to quit on it, though he leapt at the chance to join Shepard and bring the Spectre down. Shepard recruited Garrus as the Truian was rescuing the Citadel Wards' local doctor, Michelle, who informed Shepard of a Quarian who may hold vital information Shepard was in need of, and that she was looking for a meeting with the crimelord Fist. Shepard fought Fist, who revealed that the Quarian was walking right into Saren's trap, and Shepard, Ash, Kaiden and Garrus rushed to her aid, rescuing her. Tali'Zorah nar Rayya, as she was named, presented Shepard with an audio recording salvaged from a Geth memory core which clearly encriminated Saren and Matriarch Benezia in a plot to "bring about the return of the Reapers." With the evidence presented, the Council declared Saren rouge, and recruited Shepard into the Spectres to personally take the Turian down. Tali joined the crew as a part of her pilgrimage, and Garrus told Shepard about a Krogan Mercenary named Urdnot Wrex, who would help immensly in the fight. Unfortunaltly, Captain Anderson was forced to step down and relinquish command of the Normandy to Shepard, caught in politcal backstabbing to Shepard and the Crew's chagrin.
Shepard, Garrus, Tali, Wrex, Kaiden and Ashley ventured off to find Matriarch Benezia's daughter, a scientist and Prothean expert named Liara T'Soni. Liara was unaware of her mother's fall, as she had become estranged with her, and was trapped by a Prothean trap in the ruins she had been exploring, as a small army of Geth were in the process of attacking the ruins to find her. Shepard's Crew took to the fight, and defeated them all, including the Krogan Warlord that lead them, and rescued Liara, inviting her to join the crew. With the team complete, Shepard would continue to explore the galaxy, saving a colony on Feros, stopping Saren despite a horrid cost on Virmire and tracking down Matriarch Benezia to Noveria. In their quest, Shepard's Crew discovered the real motivation behind Saren's attacks, who he was really working for, and what their plans were, though Shepard's Crew's hard work and dedication lead to the the death of all of their enemies, and the stop to all of Saren's plots. They were reassigned for a while, fighting Geth and other fringe threats, until a mysterious ship ambushed them. The ship destroyed the Normandy and spaced Shepard, killing the Commander. Of course, Shepard proved difficult to simply leave dead, thanks to the intervention of a very rich and very secret organization with its' own agenda...
