A Tank is an armored military vehicle characterized by a large main gun, heavy armor, and crawler tracks. A tank's main gun fires multiple types of high caliber rounds, including discarding sabot, HEAT, guided missiles (in some models), and, in the case of tanks modified for riot control, foam or high pressure water. Tanks are also typically armed with multiple machine guns for use against infantry. The first tanks were deployed in the First World War by the United Kingdom, and by the Second World War, armored forces had become an integral part of most major countries' arsenals.
